SignaIP Platform Terms of Use

Version 1.1Effective date: July 14, 2026

This English version is a preliminary translation provided for reference and legal review. Until it is approved, the Portuguese version prevails in case of any inconsistency.

Section 1: Parties and Contact

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of SignaIP, a product of Inspireip Tecnologia Blockchain LTDA, trade name Inspireip, CNPJ/ME No. 38.285.174/0001-10, headquartered at Rua da Consolação, 2302, Consolação, São Paulo/SP, Brazil. Inspireip is an official member of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI).

The individual or legal entity accepting these Terms is the User. By accepting them, the User confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to all conditions.

Section 2: Acceptance and Evidence

These Terms are a contract of adhesion. By clicking Accept, creating an account or using the Service, the User gives free, express and informed consent. For a legal entity, acceptance must be given by a duly authorized representative.

Inspireip records the date, time, IP address and, where applicable, device information associated with acceptance as evidence of consent. This record is retained securely for at least six months, or longer when required to defend rights.

Section 3: Definitions

The terms below have the meanings assigned in this section.

SignaIP, Platform or Service
Inspireip's tool for embedding verifiable credentials in images and checking file credentials.
C2PA
An open and public specification for digital-content provenance and authenticity maintained independently of Inspireip.
C2PA Manifest
A digitally signed set of metadata embedded in the file, with declared identity, date, hash, permissions and ingredient history.
Record
The operation that generates and embeds the C2PA Manifest, applies Soft Binding, stores the Manifest on IPFS and anchors its mapping on blockchain.
Hard Binding
An integrity binding through a SHA-256 hash: file changes invalidate the signature.
Soft Binding
An invisible watermark and perceptual hash that help reconnect an image to its Record when metadata is removed.
Provenance Certificate
A PDF generated for each Record with technical data, cryptographic evidence, blockchain transaction and verification instructions.
Blockchain and IPFS
Public decentralized networks used for anchoring and storing the Manifest identified by its CID.
Validator
A feature that displays credentials existing in a file; its result is informational and is not an expert report.
Declared Owner
The individual or legal entity identified by the User as holder of rights in the registered file.

Section 4: Scope and Description of the Service

These Terms grant a limited, non-exclusive, revocable and non-transferable license to access and use SignaIP under the selected Plan.

The Platform provides image registration with a C2PA Manifest, declared owner identity, date and AI-use permissions; Soft Binding; a Provenance Certificate; IPFS storage; public blockchain anchoring; and a credential Validator.

Inspireip may improve, modify or discontinue features, preserving rights under active Plans and providing prior notice for material changes.

Section 5: C2PA Standard and Interoperability

Manifests follow the C2PA specification, an open standard maintained independently from Inspireip. The specification may change, be versioned or discontinued. Inspireip will use reasonable efforts to follow current versions but does not guarantee backward compatibility with future versions.

Third-party tools determine how credentials are read and displayed. External validators may show only part of the Manifest, omit assertions or show signature status differently. Inspireip does not control this behavior.

C2PA AI-use permissions are declarative. Neither the standard nor the Platform technically enforces them against third-party systems; the Record documents the rights holder's dated and verifiable declaration.

Inspireip may participate in C2PA conformance programs. Inclusion in conformance lists is solely determined by the consortium and is not a contractual warranty.

Section 6: Registration, Account and Eligibility

Use requires true, accurate and up-to-date registration information. The User is responsible for its accuracy and updates.

The Platform is intended for people aged 18 or older. Minors must not create an account or use the Service.

Access credentials are personal and non-transferable. The User is responsible for account activity and must promptly report unauthorized use. Legal entities are responsible for their Authorized Users.

Section 7: Plans, Payment and Cancellation

Each Plan's features, limits and prices are those published on the plans page at the time of purchase. Future periods may be repriced or have conditions changed with prior notice and without retroactive effect.

Paid Plans are charged in advance and automatically renew monthly or annually unless cancelled. Payments are processed by partners; Inspireip does not store complete card data.

Consumers may withdraw within seven calendar days under Brazilian consumer law and receive a full refund. Cancellation may be made at any time and stops future renewals; access remains until the end of the paid period. Except for withdrawal rights or failures attributable to Inspireip, payments are not proportionally refundable.

Non-payment may suspend paid features without affecting Records already made under Section 9. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. A free Plan may have limits and may be changed or discontinued with prior notice.

Section 8: Nature of the Record. What It Proves and Does Not Guarantee

Identity, ownership and permission data reflect declarations supplied by the User. Inspireip does not validate or guarantee those declarations. The User is civilly and criminally responsible for false information.

A Record demonstrates that the file identified by its hash existed at the time of registration, enables integrity checks, and documents the ownership and AI-permission declaration made on that date with an auditable timestamp.

A Record is not absolute proof of original authorship or ownership, does not replace formal intellectual-property registration, is not legal advice, and does not technically prevent misuse. Inspireip does not guarantee that Records, Certificates or Validator results will be accepted as evidence in proceedings or negotiations.

The Platform, its documents and communications do not replace specialized legal advice, expert reports or judicial decisions.

Section 9: Permanent Records on Blockchain and IPFS

When a Record is made, data such as the file hash, Record identifier, timestamp and Manifest with the Declared Owner's name and permissions are published on public blockchain and IPFS. Those environments are public, distributed and immutable: published data cannot be altered, deleted or rolled back, including by Inspireip.

By completing a Record, the User acknowledges and agrees to the permanent and irrevocable publication of that data and confirms authority to include third-party Declared Owner data.

Closing the account or cancelling a Plan does not remove data published on blockchain and IPFS. Directly controlled data is governed by the Privacy Policy. The User must verify data before completing a Record; on-chain errors cannot be retroactively corrected, although a corrective Record may be available.

Section 10: Known Technical Limitations

Social networks, messaging apps and other platforms may compress files and remove metadata, eliminating the embedded C2PA Manifest. Soft Binding seeks to mitigate this, but its effectiveness is not absolute.

Heavy edits, extreme crops, partial screenshots, intense filters or re-synthesis may degrade or destroy the watermark and perceptual hash. Soft Binding is an additional traceability layer, not a guarantee of identification in every case.

Recognition by external validators depends on inclusion of Inspireip's signing certificate in applicable Trust Lists. Before that, external tools may show an unknown signature without invalidating the Record. Integrity, prior existence and blockchain anchoring remain independently verifiable.

Blockchain and IPFS availability depends on public networks outside Inspireip's control. Future C2PA changes may also affect third-party interpretation of older Manifests.

Section 11: Keeping the Original File

The Platform is not a backup or file-custody service. The User must retain the original file, the signed file downloaded after registration and the Provenance Certificate. Hash comparison requires an intact signed file; losing it may make verification impossible without liability for Inspireip.

Section 12: Permitted Use and Restrictions

The User must use the Platform lawfully. Prohibited conduct includes registering files without rights or authority; submitting unlawful or infringing content; fraud or false evidence; exploiting vulnerabilities or bypassing controls; unauthorized resale, scraping or overload; intellectual-property infringement; and violations of applicable sanctions, embargoes or export laws.

Inspireip may apply technical limits, remove content and suspend accounts for violations under Section 17.

Section 13: User Content and Licenses

User Content remains owned by the User or its rightful owner. These Terms do not transfer intellectual-property rights in registered works to Inspireip.

The User grants a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free operational license to host, process, technically reproduce and transmit User Content only to operate contracted features, including Manifest generation, hash calculation, Soft Binding, IPFS storage and Validator display.

The User is fully responsible for User Content and associated declarations and will hold Inspireip harmless from third-party claims caused by that content. Voluntary suggestions may be used to improve products without compensation or confidentiality obligations.

Section 14: Intellectual Property

All rights in the Platform, including the SignaIP and Inspireip marks, patents, copyrights, software, source code, design, databases and trade secrets, remain with Inspireip or its licensors. The license only permits use of the Service and does not assign rights. Inspireip marks may not be used without prior written authorization.

Section 15: Privacy and Data Protection

Personal Data processing is governed by the SignaIP Privacy Policy, an integral part of these Terms and prepared under the LGPD. Users should pay particular attention to the section on data published on blockchain and IPFS.

Section 16: Third-Party Services and Decentralized Networks

The Platform integrates public blockchain networks, IPFS, pinning services, gateways, cloud providers, payment services and external validators. Inspireip does not control their availability, content, network fees or practices and is not liable for outages, congestion, forks, protocol changes or discontinuities attributable to them, while using reasonable efforts to mitigate impacts.

Section 17: Suspension and Termination

Inspireip may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, security risk, suspected fraud, non-payment, court order or legal requirement. Where possible, prior notice will be given.

The User may close the account at any time. Closure does not affect Records already published on blockchain and IPFS and does not create refund rights outside Section 7.

Section 18: Warranties and Limitation of Liability

Inspireip uses commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available and secure but does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent allowed, Inspireip is not liable for false User declarations, third-party use contrary to declared permissions, public-network or third-party outages, external interpretation of Manifests, indirect damages, decisions based solely on the Validator, or loss of files kept by the User.

For non-consumer relationships, total liability is limited to amounts paid in the 12 months before the event. Nothing limits rights that Brazilian law does not allow to be limited.

Section 19: Indemnification

The User will indemnify and hold Inspireip harmless from reasonable and documented losses and expenses, including legal fees, caused by breaches of these Terms, false ownership or permission declarations, and third-party rights violations caused by User Content. This does not apply to losses caused by Inspireip's own acts or omissions.

Section 20: Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for failures or delays caused by force majeure, including widespread internet outages, large-scale cyberattacks, decentralized-network failures, acts of authority and natural events. Payment obligations for services already provided remain due.

Section 21: Communications

Inspireip communications are sent to the registered email address or through Platform notifications. The User must keep contact data current.

Section 22: Amendments

Inspireip may amend these Terms. Material changes will be notified with reasonable notice and may require new acceptance. Non-material changes will be notified; continued use after notice constitutes acceptance. The current version and effective date remain available on the Platform.

Section 23: Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. The courts of São Paulo/SP are elected, subject to the consumer's home venue where required by consumer law.

Section 24: General Provisions

Invalidity of one provision does not affect the others. Tolerance of a breach is not waiver. The User may not assign rights or obligations without consent; Inspireip may do so in corporate reorganizations. Provisions that should survive, including Sections 8, 9, 13, 14, 18, 19 and 23, remain effective after termination. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and Plan conditions are the entire agreement.
